Welcome new staff!

BCCC is proud to announce the following appointments:

  • Kristen Diehl, Director of Chorale

    Kristen Diel

Miss Diehl brings a multitude of skills and talents to BCCC. In addition to being a highly respected and beloved choral director in the Cocalico School District, she is an outstanding pianist, organist, and recitalist. As one who completed a Master of Music Education degree with a thesis on the female changing voice, she is an ideal individual to work with our middle school age singers-girls and boys! Miss Diehl will make her conducting debut with BCCC in the Fall Concert, Our Finest Gifts.

  • Michelle Metz, Director of Training Chorus

    Jeff Metz

Miss Metz will bring joy to her work with our children and expertise in training the young voice and teaching musicianship skills. BCCC has had the privilege to work with Miss Metz for nearly four years in her capacity as the music director at Lauer’s Park Elementary School, with which BCCC shares a partnership relationship. Miss Metz has been a strong advocate for BCCC in the Reading School District, and was also one of three directors at the BCCC’s new camp, Summer Sing!, held in June at Hope Lutheran Church, Reading, PA. We are thrilled to add her now to our staff in an official capacity!

  • Linda Ebersole, Accompanist

    Linda Ebersole

Mrs. Ebersole is also not a newcomer to BCCC. As the mother of four children who have sung in BCCC, including Candace who has entered MasterSingers this year, she has a long-standing appreciation for the chorus—and we for her! In addition to accompanying for BCCC and area musicians, Mrs. Ebersole is the choir director at Reading Area Community College. With Mrs. Ebersole now on staff with BCCC, we look forward to future opportunities to share our resources and talents with the community college.

MasterSingers

Ben Magrowski, Evan Hinkley, Kelly Timko, Amancay Candal Tribe, and their Director, Jodi Rinehimer (far right), beam with delight with Dr. Lawrence Kaptein (third from right).

Ben Magrowski, Evan Hinkley, Kelly Timko, Amancay Candal Tribe, and their Director, Jodi Rinehimer, took part in a student and director honor choir hosted at Penn State University in early August.

The MasterSingers and Ms. Rinehimer were members of an honor choir directed by Dr. Lawrence Kaptein from the University of Colorado. The choir was sponsored by the American Choral Directors Association Pennsylvania Chapter. The choir began rehearsals on Saturday, August 1 and concluded with a concert performance on Sunday, August 2.

This is the first group of BCCC students accepted in this honor choir.
