Hear what the members of
the 2004-2005 Training Chorus say about music!
“Music is important in my life because
I’d be miserable without it.”
Leigh Balatgek
“Music is important in our lives because without music our life
would be awful. I would be miserable without it!”
Alexa Lambert
“Music is great to me because I get to be loud and play some
instruments. I also like music because I have some friends to
support me and I can support them.”
Ben Magrowski
“I think music will never fade away in the world. If the world
didn’t have any music at all, people who love music would be very
unhappy. That’s how important music is to me.”
Emma Jane Maurer
“Music is a wonderful sound. Music is very important because you
need it in your life. Music means a lot to me. Music teachers should
get a reward!”
Cosima Neumann
“I like music because you get to learn more notes. I like music
because you get to write music and learn about it.”
Jessica Reber
“What music means to me is that it sounds beautiful and good to me.
The singing is good and the music is good too. I love music as much
as singing. It feels good to do music because I like the songs that
we sing and I really like to sing together.”
Kaitlyn Reber
“Music is important to me because if there was no music we would be
bored to death! Playing a piano can make you very smart.”
Bryn Spezialetti
“Music is important because I think it’s very pretty.”
Hannah Steiner
“Music is important to me because I love to sing and play
instruments. Also, if there was no music life would be horrible and
I would hate it.”
Amy Swartz
“Music is important to me because it brings me joy, laughter, and
hope but if we didn’t have music we would be miserable. Music is my
favorite thing.”
Jennifer Thuss
“Music in my life is important because I love the sound of music and
because my mom plays the piano and so do I. But every time I hear
her play it makes me feel so good inside of me.”
Karli Werner

What do the
graduates say about BCCC?
"Being a member of BCCC during
Junior High and High School exposed me to a myriad of repertoire,
challenging harmonies, music theory, and performance opportunities
that went beyond the public school music curriculum. In addition to
music education and a sense of professionalism, BCCC gave me friends
from different schools across the county. BCCC is also a family
affair, since many siblings, including my brother, become members."
Christianne Knauer, BCCC Graduate 1997
Miss Berks County 2003
BFA, Music Theatre and Psychology
New York University, 2001
"Donald Hinkle is the reason why I am a singer today. His dream, his
vision, The Berks Classical Children's Chorus, is a testament to his
devotion to his students as well as to the art form. I am proud to
have been a member of this group."
Josh Moyer, BCCC Graduate 1997
MM, Voice Performance
Duquesne University, 2003
"I have fond memories of BCCC's superb conductors and the excellent
repertoire. The training I received during my eight years in the
organization has served me extremely well since. It is an experience
that will prove undoubtedly to have been life-shaping."
Rebecca Incledon, BCCC Graduate 1996
BA, Music and Sociology
