Summer Chorus Camp is a day camp, open to schoolchildren who are entering grades 4 through 8 in the fall. The camp runs one full week in August, Monday and through Friday, at Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Boulevard, Wyomissing, PA. Camp concludes with a special Friday afternoon performance at the church.
Summer Chorus Camp welcomes children who want a fun summer experience with other children who like to sing. Members of the Berks Classical Children’s Chorus Choristers and Chorale attend the camp, but camp is also open to non-members. No auditions will be held, but prior musical experience is a plus. The focus will be on choral singing and musical training for young treble voices.
Summer Chorus Camp combines hard work and hard play! The combination of serious music making and traditional camp activities make this camp a unique summer experience. The curriculum includes large and small group singing, and classes in recorders, sight singing, and theory. Songs include a variety of world music.
Summer Chorus Camp is offered to reach more singers, particularly those who do not have the resources (financial, family, time, etc.) to commit to a full year of membership in the regular program.
